falaq is an Arabic word the meaning of it is Daybreak.
this surah is situated on the 113th section (sūrah) of the Qur'an. It is a short five refrain summon, asking God (Allah) for security from the fiendishness of Satan. This surah and the 114th (and last) surah in the Qur'an, a Nās, are on the whole alluded to as al-Mu'awwidhatayn "the Refuges", as both start "I look for asylum", an Nās advises to look for God for shelter from the insidiousness from inside, while al-Falaq advises looking for God for shelter from the underhandedness from outside, so perusing them two would shield an individual from his very own fiendishness and the naughtiness of others.
